The four main ways of giving back
The Stelios Foundation provides support in four main areas.
Food from the Heart
Help to alleviate the hardship arising from the economic crisis.
The Foundation’s ‘Food from the Heart’ programme was first launched in Greece and Cyprus during the economic crisis in 2012 and provides 200,000 snacks to those in need each month through 12 distribution centres. The programme has since expanded to the UK, where in partnership with the trussell.org.uk it will distribute a year’s supply of chilli con carne tins in 2025. Earlier this year in France, the Foundation announced a partnership with restosducoeur.org, a major French charity providing free food and support, supplying tins of mixed vegetables.
The partnership with the capuchindaycentre.ie extends this model to Ireland for the first time, supporting one of the country’s largest charities working with people experiencing homelessness, poverty and family hardship with the provision of 200,000 tins of beans with a retail value of €300,000 purchased from supplier valeofoods.ie.

Awards for Entrepreneurs
Sir Stelios has long believed in giving back to society by rewarding fellow entrepreneurs with cash prizes. His first entrepreneur awards, the Disabled Entrepreneur Awards, came in 2007 in partnership with the disability charity Leonard Chesire, and is still going strong. More recently in the UK, Stelios launched his Young Entrepreneurs Awards, for owners of start-ups aged 34 and younger.
The Stelios Bi-communal Cyprus Awards were launched in 2009, to promote peace and cooperation on the island awarded to teams of one Greek-Cypriot and Turkish-Cypriot running a business together. More recently, Stelios launched Young Entrepreneurs Awards in Cyprus.
The Young Entrepreneurs Awards in Greece began in 2008, encouraging start-ups by business owners aged 34 or younger.
In 2025 Stelios launched the Monaco and Riviera Young Entrepreneur Awards, again for start-ups in the past five years aged 34 or under.
The same year, the North-South Business Cooperation Awards were launched for fostering cross border trade between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. The awards aim to promote peace and economic prosperity.
Donations to other charities
Hosting other charities’ events
The Stelios Philanthropic Foundation offers its four conference halls – in London, Athens, Nicosia and Monaco – to any registered charity free of charge. We also make a donation covering the costs of running the event. Currently more than 150 charities across Europe are taking up this opportunity every year.
