The Stelios Philanthropic Foundation was represented at Cass Business School's donors reception earlier this month. The Foundation sponsors ten scholarships at the world famous post-graduate college, which includes Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou among its alumni. Vice-chancellor Paul Curran thanked the Foundation's Tracy Ghori and expressed hope for its continuing support.

Yesterday Mario Stasis, Christos Omorphos, Chrysostomos Christofi and Mikaela Chronopoulou received their degree certificates from Dean Steven Haberman before setting off for new career paths at Coca-Cola and PwC among others. The Stelios Philanthropic Foundation endows 10 one-year scholarships annually at this prestigious graduate university college.

Teachers and children at the Kaimakli public nursery school presented Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou with a bouquet of flowers and a thank-you card after the easyJet founder dropped in to help distribute a lunchtime sandwich snack and chocolate bar. A growing number of families are affected by the on-going financial crisis in Cyprus so the lunchtime snack is a great help to those on limited budgets. The school headmistress has promised to register the kids at the Nicosia FFTH outlet and arrange for the pickup of their daily snacks.

easyJet founder Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou's was guest of honour at an event to mark his philanthropic foundation's support for a scholarship programme at Athens' Doukas high school. In return the school's head teacher Kostantinos Kuritsis (pictured) and alumnus society presented him with a commemorative award to mark the event.

Nearly 20 Stelios Scholars were on hand tonight to hear colleagues as well as their sponsors describe the life-changing prospect of studying at the world famous School. Director Craig Calhoun said his thanks were not enough to reward donors' generosity and hoped the students would justify the charity by "giving back" in the future.

easyJet founder Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou has been busy this week meeting his new scholars from the London School of Economics and Cass Business School. The twenty students, who began their studies earlier in the month, have been able to take up their places as a result of funding by the Stelios Philanthropic Foundation. Over refreshments Stelios and the scholars discussed major issues of the day including the international financial crisis as well as the role of entrepreneurship in wealth creation and distribution.
