Award for Young Entrepreneur of the Year in Greece
The Awards, organized by Sir Stelios Haji-ioannou, are addressed exclusively to upcoming, young Greek entrepreneurs, younger than 40 years old (born in 1977 or later) that have created a company in Greece in the last 7 years with a minimum turnover of €10.000 per annum. Their business must employ at least two people and the entrepreneur must hold at least the 50% of the company. If the owners are two, they should own more than 80% of the company between them. The application submission process for the «Stelios Haji-Ioannou Award for Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2016 In Greece» organized by Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou, easyJet, easy group and Stelios Foundation founder,has just been completed. The changes in the criteria for the winner selection have significantly increased this year’s participation (67 applications – ten times up, compared to last year’s number).
The Awards Ceremony will be held on the 31st of October 2016 in Athens where the winners will be announced by Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou himself. For the first time in the nine-year history of the awards, there will be 8 winners, who will receive €100.000 in total, which is double the amount of what was offered in 2015 and essentially, the largest amount given so far. The first winner will receive €30.000 and the remaining 7 winners, will each receive €10.000. It is worth noting that since 2008 and until today, the award has supported young entrepreneurship in Greece with the overall amount of €500.000.

Last night Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou announced the winner of his Award for Young Entrepreneur of the Year in Greece – 2014, at the Kouros Awards ceremony hosted by Leshi Epiheirimatikotitas, at the Athenaeum Intercontinental Hotel.
The easyJet founder awarded the €50.000 cash prize to Nikolas Minoglou & Christina Martini, the entrepreneurs behind Ancient Greek Sandals. The company, which has its headquarters at Inofita, creates high quality leather handmade ancient sandals using the best raw materials.
