Cass alumni gather to help tomorrow’s students

4th September 2015

Over 150 alumni for City University's Cass Business School gathered in Monaco last Friday to raise money for a bursary fund for future needy students. Cass academics Paul Curran (vice-chancellor) and Costas Grammenos (professor - shipping/trade & finance) were on hand to receive a £128,000 cheque from Sir Stelios marking the 10th year of a pledge for ten student bursaries annually. In addition a €2000 raise from the "honesty bar" has been earmarked for a Monaco Bursary to help finance a student at the prestigious postgraduate business school. Last year's donation has been earmarked to help a Vietnamese student with her studies.

Guests also listened to a presentation by Dr Paolo Aversa on the lessons to be drawn from Formula 1 motor racing teams when confronting business problems.
