SIR STELIOS' SUPPORT FOR GREEK ENTREPRENEURSHIP TOPS €350.000 IN SEVEN YEARS

Last night Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou announced the winner of his Award for Young Entrepreneur of the Year in Greece – 2014, at the Kouros Awards ceremony hosted by Leshi Epiheirimatikotitas, at the Athenaeum Intercontinental Hotel.

The easyJet founder awarded the €50.000 cash prize to Nikolas Minoglou & Christina Martini, the entrepreneurs behind Ancient Greek Sandals. The company, which has its headquarters at Inofita, creates high quality leather handmade ancient sandals using the best raw materials.

Food From the Heart has now offered more than 250,000 snacks to people in need!

Food from the Heart, the charitable project run by easyJet founder, Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou and his Philanthropic Foundation, has passed the 250,000 mark in offering a free lunchtime snack to the needy in Greece and Cyprus. Numbers are growing fast following the opening of two new distribution centres in the heart of crisis-hit Athens and Nicosia.

Launched back in May 2013 from a single base in Limassol, Cyprus - Food from the Heart now has nearly 2000 recipients registered to its five distribution centres (four in Cyprus - three in Limassol, one in Nicosia plus Athens).

easyJet founder Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou's was guest of honour at an event to mark his philanthropic foundation's support for a scholarship programme at Athens' Doukas high school. In return the school's head teacher Kostantinos Kuritsis (pictured) and alumnus society presented him with a commemorative award to mark the event.
