€192,000, including Sir Stelios doubling, were raised at yesterday's 4th annual fundraiser to support the work of WWF and Fondation Prince Albert II de Monaco to safeguard the "Pelagos Sanctuary" and the Mediterranean.

Food From the Heart has now offered more than 250,000 snacks to people in need!

Food from the Heart, the charitable project run by easyJet founder, Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou and his Philanthropic Foundation, has passed the 250,000 mark in offering a free lunchtime snack to the needy in Greece and Cyprus. Numbers are growing fast following the opening of two new distribution centres in the heart of crisis-hit Athens and Nicosia.

Launched back in May 2013 from a single base in Limassol, Cyprus - Food from the Heart now has nearly 2000 recipients registered to its five distribution centres (four in Cyprus - three in Limassol, one in Nicosia plus Athens).

HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco and resident philanthropist, Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou, last night co-hosted a fundraising cocktail reception on the easyJet founder's philanthropic foundation Monaco terrace.

This event was in aid of the WWF's joint work with both Prince Albert II and Sir Stelios' philanthropic foundations, currently focusing on the preservation of the Mediterranean monk seal in the Mediterranean.

Total amount raised: 180,000 euros

This fundraising event is expected to be well attended and all sums raised on the night will be doubled by the Stelios Philanthropic Foundation!

Barely a month ago Typhoon Haiyan ripped through the Philippines, destroying the lives and livelihoods of men, women and children. While the international community has made superhuman efforts to provide emergency relief in the form of food, water, medicines, tents and blankets, the longer term clear-up is now the top priority so that Philippinos can return to homes, wrecked by the force of the storm.

Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou was on hand earlier today at the opening of the WWF's brand new UK headquarters in Woking, Surrey. The easyJet founder joined world-renowned naturalist Sir David Attenborough (pictured above) and other VIP guests for a ceremony to mark the international environment charity's latest stage of development.

This week Monaco philanthropist and easyGroup founder Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou threw a fundraising bash on the Stelios Philanthropic Foundation's Monaco terrace to raise money for the WWF's Tigers Alive Initiative, aimed at saving the endangered tiger species. The same evening, Stelios announced his pledge of £100k over the next three years to help finance the conservation charity's new Living Planet Centre in Surrey, UK.

In late 2008, Stelios supported efforts to repair the forests of the Pendeli mountain foothills, damaged by widespread fires earlier in the year.
