Nearly 40 Stelios scholars from LSE and Cass Business School met last Saturday to hear easyJet founder, Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou update plans for his philanthropic foundation. Speaking at the Foundation's new London HQ Sir Stelios said 215 Stelios Scholars had been helped to-date; with financial assistance being given to students at LSE/Cass as well as Doukas high school in Athens. He added the Foundation had pledged £3.5m over 15 years with awards going to students from Greece, Cyprus and the UK as well as other EU countries.

Last night the London School of Economics played host to the Stelios Philanthropic Foundation and other benefactors who have generously funded scholarships for undergraduate places at the world famous academic institution.

The Stelios Philanthropic Foundation was represented at Cass Business School's donors reception earlier this month. The Foundation sponsors ten scholarships at the world famous post-graduate college, which includes Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou among its alumni. Vice-chancellor Paul Curran thanked the Foundation's Tracy Ghori and expressed hope for its continuing support.

Yesterday Mario Stasis, Christos Omorphos, Chrysostomos Christofi and Mikaela Chronopoulou received their degree certificates from Dean Steven Haberman before setting off for new career paths at Coca-Cola and PwC among others. The Stelios Philanthropic Foundation endows 10 one-year scholarships annually at this prestigious graduate university college.

Cass Business School held their annual Donor Thank You reception on Thursday 14th November which included speeches from Dean, Professor Steve Haberman, (pictured) Michael Cole-Fontayn, Executive Vice President and Chairman EMEA BNY Mellon and Julia Giese, BSc Business Studies student and Coca Cola Scholarship recipient.

A small group of teachers and young children from The Giving Tree English Nursery School in Nicosia have sent a warming thank you video to Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou and his Philanthropic foundation.

Teachers and children at the Kaimakli public nursery school presented Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou with a bouquet of flowers and a thank-you card after the easyJet founder dropped in to help distribute a lunchtime sandwich snack and chocolate bar. A growing number of families are affected by the on-going financial crisis in Cyprus so the lunchtime snack is a great help to those on limited budgets. The school headmistress has promised to register the kids at the Nicosia FFTH outlet and arrange for the pickup of their daily snacks.
